A Popular activity among Japanese Students

Hello! My name is YOSHIMI KAWAI, I’m a student of Keio University and am learning law, especially commercial law. But today I’m not going to talk about my major but am going to talk about a ‘’tennis tennis’’ club which I’m belong to.
By the way, do you know how many people in Keio University? I am not sure exactly but I suppose there are at least 20,000 people!! Isn’t it a lot?? And tennis is a very popular activity in Japanese university students. So there are a lot of tennis clubs; maybe 70 or more!!
Then my tennis club, named ‘’Apricots’’. In Apricots, there are almost 100 people at a variety of faculties. Some are very good at playing tennis, some are so so (and I’m not good at but I like playing tennis). And we play tennis at least once a week, also we enjoy a lot of other activitiesJ ; for example, drinking, going to karaoke, go bowling go to a X’mas party and drinking…..
We lodge together 3 times a year and two of them take 6 days. In that time we test of our courage (‘’Kimodameshi’’ in Japanese),enjoy fireworks as well as we play tennis, that’s really fun!!
Well I love my tennis club than any other clubs because the size of the club is middle, so we can make a lot of friends and talk to friends closely, and Apricots is a homelike atmosphere.
Now I‘d like to ask you in China and Korea; What is popular activity in your country’s university student?

I wonder why the tennis is so popular among Japanese students.
There might be some reason, but I do not know why. Although I have never play tennis seriously, I know it is fun! Looking back, I played roller skatiing in my university.

Nice pictures~!!Looks a lot of fun!
Like you said, I think tennis clubs are kind of university campus culture in Japan.
In Korea and China, are there so many clubs like in Japan?

I didn't know you were in tennis club! I guess Japanese students like to be in particular groups.I wonder if other countries have this kind of system in universities. I don't think universities in Korea or China have such clubs. well I have to ask that in 3 weeks!

I guess there are 2reasons why students join such clubs.one is they want a place to play sports coz in Japan difficult to find out and need to reserve sports court or gym. The other one is to make friends.
Or, we can do these things because it's easier to graduate Japanese Universty than other 2countries...
