Hello, my name is Yohta Shimizu. I am a freshman at Rikkyo University, and major in Tourism. Why Tourism at all? One year ago, as a Juken-sei, which means candidate for university in English.
At that time. I wanted to enter wherever I can study about international affair. However, today, knowledge of the world has become a matter of cource in a way. Every university in my sight at that time boasts of their program about English or study abroad by lower fee.
At the end of the summer, I could not make sure my future plan, or what I really wanted to do in university. Although it was clear that I wished to do something global, people who has similar itch to mine would have been numerous number. Looking back, I could not decide what major I choose until the last time of February. Finally, I decided to choose Tourism. I can bolster my knowledge of the world via Tourism. One good thing about Tourism is that the major is relatively new and comprehensive. We must study Tourism from a lot of point of view, such as Economics, Sociology, Psychology,, etc… In my opinion, it is the time when every one of us must have certain knowledge of the world. But the way we study about the world is of course different. Important thing is to acknowledge other point of view, not to stick to only your category.

I understand how you feel.
Actually, we need various points of view in order to analyze international affairs.Probably, Tourism is one of them and ,of course, it's possible to think from the field of law as well.
I hope that you have a chance to find out your own way to commit international society through leadership forum.

When I was a candidate for university, I also could not make sure what I really wanted to do in university until autumn. I see your feeling. However, now, I am enjoying my university life!!
