Hey there! It's so ridiculously HOT in Tokyo. I hope it'd be better by the time we meet. My name is Mari Seto (call me Mari)and I'm studying in Faculty of Law, well Political Science to be exact. My major is modern Chinese Politics.
I was wondering what I should write, and I figuredsomething about my part time job might be interesting.I don't know about Korea, but I know it's not popular to have a part time jobin China (am I right?). Here in Japan, it's extremely popular to have part time jobs. You can say we have time to spare because we don't study much haha
I have two part time jobs. The first one is the pick up staff at a bus company.I wake up at 5:30 to pick up foreigners from hotels who join the sightseeing tours. It's fun because I meet people from all over the world(literally everywhere). Sometimes there are troubles likeencountering with tourists that don't speak English at all,or some that just can't seem to be on time (people from Latin America are the worst at being strict on time)but anyways, I like working there... it would be much better if I didn't have to wake up so damn early.
The second one is the secretary job.I'm working in a venture company (it's like 3 years old) and my job is mainly translating English articles about Google, Amazon.com, and all the other sorts of IT companies to Japanese.Right now, I'm translating articles written on Social Networking Service (MySpace the biggest of them all, I'm sure you've heard of it)
So those of you who are taking a peek at this blog, I have a question for you.In Japan, a site called MIXI is the most popular SNS website (11million users. That's roughly the same size as the population of Tokyo!).So what are the popular SNSs in China and Korea?

I know that "cyworld" is very popular among young Koreans. It's similar to "mixi".Probably, more people are hooked on it than Japanese.
I have no idea about China...I guess that such kind of website is regulated by government. Is that right? If anyone know, please let us know.
>Latin America are the worst at being strict on time
We might be able to encounter with such situations caused by nationalities in this foum!!
You can use English very well, because you tannslate English to Japanese in your part time job!
Please tell me how do you study English.
thanx for the comments!
